Network Engineer – Data Centre

We are looking for a Network Engineer – Data Centre to work in an enterprise environment, undertaking the design, engineering, implementation and operational management of complex data centre network infrastructures. The role involves involvement in both Network Architecture/Engineering activities – with a particular focus on SDN and Cisco ACI technologies – and Operations activities, ensuring the management, maintenance and smooth running of the network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be able to work entirely remotely. Responsibilities

• Design, planning and engineering of data centre network architectures.
• Delivery, provisioning and deprovisioning of data centre connectivity for clients, working on network equipment such as load balancers, routers, switches and firewalls.
• Configuration, management and maintenance of infrastructures based on Cisco ACI technology.
• Management and configuration of network equipment and load balancing solutions.
• Troubleshooting, analysing and resolving issues relating to network infrastructure.
• Management of day-to-day operational activities, monitoring and incident management.
• Technical feasibility analysis and support for infrastructure development activities.
• Drafting and updating of operating procedures and technical documentation.

Essential requirements

Required skills:

• Proven experience in enterprise networking and data centres.
• Excellent knowledge of Cisco ACI, with experience in the configuration, management and engineering of SDN infrastructures.
• Solid knowledge of key Layer 2 and Layer 3 network technologies and protocols: VLAN, VPC, STP, BGP, OSPF, VRF and MPLS.
• Knowledge of switching and routing technologies in enterprise environments.
• Experience in managing network equipment and complex infrastructures.
• Knowledge of Citrix load balancing solutions.
• Knowledge of key firewalling and network security issues.
• Skills in troubleshooting and the operational management of data centre infrastructures.

Desirable requirements

Desirable skills:

• Knowledge of FabricPath technology.
• Experience with F5 load balancing solutions.
• Knowledge of network virtualisation solutions, particularly VMware NSX-T.
• Experience with Fortinet/FortiGate firewall technologies.
• Knowledge of Cisco, Huawei and Juniper equipment and technologies.

Soft skills

• A hands-on approach, with analytical skills focused on problem-solving;
• Ability to work collaboratively with different technical teams;
• Ability to manage operational tasks independently;
• Ability to work in complex and constantly evolving infrastructure environments.

Remuneration

Salary: Gross annual salary ranging from €42,000 to €48,000, determined on the basis of seniority, technical autonomy, expertise in the required technologies, certifications, the complexity of the client environment and the actual responsibilities of the role.
